Evaluate a trade setup before you take it.
A 1:2 R:R trade only needs to win 34% of the time to break even (ignoring commissions). A 1:3 setup breaks even at just 25%. Most profitable traders aim for minimum 1:2 R:R, which gives room to be wrong more often than right and still profit.
Minimum win rate to break even = 1 ÷ (1 + R:R ratio).
